2012 christmas cards

Yes I know, its been an age since I posted here. But I have been creative over the past couple of weeks so I'm going to show you my creations, starting with my Magnolia Christmas cards.

I've used copics on all my cards, and the papers have come from My Minds Eye Glitter Paper Packs, Penny Land and Love Nest. Just gorgeous for this time of year.

All the Tilda's skin and hair are the same, Skin E000, E00, E21 and R20. Hair E50, E51, E55, and E57.  One of my Tilda's is a blondie, as I thought it would go with her blue dress better.

Because of the dark colouring of the card, I used some gold thread to decorate my tree. This tree is Flowering christmas Tree from Memory Box Inc. I embossed it for extra punch.

Back to Tilda, her dress is E77 and R37 as I didn't have a copic to match this colour. Her pinny and socks are R0000. Here is a close up.

Sorry about the shadow. I used Kindy Glitz on the tinsel for extra bling.

This is my next card.

This dress is BG0000, BG000, BG01 and BG53. The pinni and socks are BG0000. And the close up:

Tilda number 3.

Yes she is wearing RED! I was soo worried doing this little girl, red is one of the hardest colours for me to do. Her dress is R27, R29 and R37. Her pinny and socks are highlighted with B000. The close up shot:

I really like the red on this dress.

And for number 4:

My little blondie, her dress is B91, B93 and B95. Her pinny and socks are again B000.

For the blokes I came up with this card. It is a Stampin Up Stamp, I'm not sure what set its from as I broke all my sets up to put like with like. I'm finding people aren't getting the joke until I tell them. Do you get it?

Happy Birthday

To my little sister. I got to crafting over the weekend after being inspired by someone elses blog, sorry I cant remember where I found this idea, but it is fun to make and looks good to boot.

Yes, I know, brilliant. You cant see them but there are even candles on the cake. And No I didn't make the flower on the lid. I cut it out of a bouquet I have sitting on my desk getting dusty. Pretty though isn't it.

Something a little bit little

Make it Colourful is having another challenge. Seeing as its still school holidays here, I thought I'd join in.
This challenge is Colour on Anything BUT white card stock!

I saw in Magnolia Ink a couple of issues ago (ps I'm still waiting on my Christmas issue, I'll be ordering online in the future) where they used Maggies on Shrink Plastic. I've been wanting to do it for ages, and had the shrink plastic already from Stamp Camp last year. I even remembered to dust the plastic with my embossing buddy before shrinking it so it didn't stick together.

I've christened two new maggies that arrived in the post today. We have Tilda with Big Balloon and Tilda with Big Bow. I have turned them into key rings / zipper pulls. I've coloured them with ordinary pencils, as I dont have any fancy ones.

As you can see they shrink down pretty small. I think I'll give one to my darling daughter for a zipper pull on her new school bag.

Colouring in Monochrome

Make it Colourful are having a challenge this week colouring in Monochrome.

I chose a lovely stamp by Sweet Pea Stamps. It is called Lily Dream. I used my Copics of course, C1, C3 and C5. Oh and I highlighted with a tiny bit of pink. I also used Stampin Up's Baroque Motifs, grey card stock and silver embossing powder; Coredinations pink card stock, a cuttle bug embossing folder, some generic bling  and Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One.

I really like the way she has turned out. I have to remember to use my embossing buddy thingo before embossing. I never remember, doh! Let me know what you think.

More new cards

I have two lovely cards to present today. One is a new Tilda (Magnolia) I got for Christmas. She is so gorgeous. I had a lot of fun colouring her. I also used a colour combo I hadn't gone with before. So here she is, a birthday card for my Mother. (I've got more of these flowers coming in the post, I cant wait to get them).

This next card I have made for my sisters baby shower. She has gone a bit jungle like in the baby's bedroom so I thought this card would be fitting. All the products in this are from Stampin Up.

Sorry its a bit blurry.

The paper used for the birthday card is from Kaiser Craft. It is a new release from December 2010 called English Rose. I love it and am tempted to buy some more of it.

Copics, copics, copics

I love colouring with copics. The blending ability of them has dramatically changed my card making style. I enjoy it so much. And the range of colours is incredible. Copic Oz is having a competition at the moment giving away a pack of the 36 copic ciao colours. How exciting is that? Go here to find out how to enter the competition.

Aren't they beautiful?

Fabric Tattered Florals

I am in a flower frenzie at the moment. I even bought a floral decorative feature at Kmart yesterday because the pink roses were just the right size for my cards, and it came with a container of "silk" petals underneat that I will put to good use.

These flowers are made with Tim Holtz' Tattered Florals and fabric. I think they turned out really well. The brads are Stampin Up's Build-a-brad and the small ones are from Making Memories from many many years ago.

I'm looking forward to putting these on a card.

I'm thinking of getting some spray starch to see if I can make some with petals that stand up.
